We'll be making some changes to the community next week, so get your friends in while you can. We're excited to announce what's in store next. ๐Ÿ‘€

This week in the creator economy, YouTube begins making moves with ad-supported streaming content, TikTok gets caught using a feature that allows employees to choose who goes viral, Insta is back stepping realizing it needs to return to its roots, and more.

YouTube is Coming for Cable ๐Ÿ“บ

We're coming full circle, ladies and gents.

From all inclusive cable with ads, to streaming TV and movies (& paying for no ads); YouTube has started testing streaming channels laced with advertisements, just like good ol' fashioned cable. Dubbed FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming TV), this is a massive step for YouTube becoming the top video content platforms across the board.

Their recent push with YouTubeTV, YouTube Primetime (yes, that's a thing), the acquisition of NFL Sunday Ticket, and more places YouTube as a top competitor in the broadcasting space.

While YT seems to be currently testing the waters, this should be a massive signal for creators who are pushing the boundaries of YouTube videos.

I can see the channels now: Josh Weissman, Babish & other YT chefs create a Food Network rival, Yes Theory & other thrill seekers create a channel similar to Discovery; I could go on all day, but I would really love to hear what channels you think current YouTubers could create together!ย

TikTok Employees Decide What Goes Viral ๐Ÿ˜‘

Looking to go viral on TikTok? You may just have to know someone on the inside...

TikTok recently stated to Forbes that employees can boost certain people's videos (including their own) to sidestep the algorithm and get pushed right to the top using their 'Heating' feature.

Having the ability to green light individuals or brands to enhance virality is a dangerous game and may even lead to some creators abandoning the platform entirely. Why should creators continue to use this platform if they begin to find that they aren't getting the same opportunities as those who know someone on the TT team?

With the rise in competition from YouTube Shorts, do you think this news will begin to put TikTok in hot water?

Creator Economy News ๐Ÿšจ

This week in the creator world, YT Shorts ad-split is fast approaching and comes with some new features, TikTok releases a content calendar for all you marketing folks, Insta is back stepping and realizing it needs to return to its roots, Chia Pet has creator collabs, and more.

Meet SimplyxMaya!

Maya is a 22 year old creator & influencer who has been creating beauty and fashion content for about a year, and she's already killing the game.

Maya originally started creating content at 15 on YouTube, and seven years later in the winter of 2021, she began producing scroll-stopping content for multiple different brands.

From fashion to beauty, travel and beyond, Maya pushes out her super engaging content on TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, her blog and even LinkedIn. Maya is a perfect example of a creator and influencer who is utilizing their outlets to efficiently grow and expand their reach to the max.

I found Maya through her engaging LinkedIn posts and I can personally say that she is not only one of the nicest people that I've had the pleasure of speaking with, but she is also an extremely impressive entrepreneur.

Maya's go-getter attitude paired with her knowledge of the market helps her stand apart from the crowd, whether it be in the content she produces for herself, or brands that she has partnered with.

If you're a brand looking for some content, definitely consider Maya. You can even find her in the CreatorPad community!

Keep killing the game, Maya! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
