This week we cover TikTok rolling out a BeReal copycat, the Funk Bros are dead set on hitting 10M subs and creating a massive theme park, Mark Rober gets a feature on CNBC, and much more. This week on CreatorPad:

TikTok Becomes BeReal πŸ™ƒ

If I were to explain an app by saying the following: "share authentic, real-time images or 10-second videos at the same time as your friends. Once you get the Now notification, you have up to three minutes to share exactly what you’re up to, capturing content from both the selfie and back cameras," what app would you think of?

We would probably all guess BeReal, right? Welp, that's the most recent update announcement from TikTok about their new feature, TikTok Now. That's right ladies and gents; we're back to every platform copying each other again. At least we had a few weeks where the breaking news isn't just the same feature from a different platform, but alas.

So how do you feel about this new feature? My entrepreneur's brain understands that adding these features is just another way to scoop up more of the market (and I mean why else would they exist), but my creative's brain is sad to see this and is sick of all the copycats.

What can a brand do to not only stand out from the big boys like YT or TT, but to truly carve out a lane of their own? Let us know your thoughts on this post in the CreatorPad Community!

Funk Bros' Big Ambitions 🀯

Brothers and YouTube creators Funk Bros, just announced that they will be building a $1M theme park/compound in their backyard based on extreme sports and activities. From skate parks with mega ramps to high dives, slip-n-slides, dirt bike tracks, and beyond.

While the yard is currently a pond with some scaffolding creating a high dive, the aspirations are insane. With a mission to "build the coolest things you've ever seen on YouTube in 2023," Funk Bros' ambitions to create this park while also trying to hit 10M subscribers is so awesome to see and is yet another example of creators offering an experience that adheres to their channel's content (we still see you, Dude Perfect πŸ‘€).

What other creators could you see creating a theme park or a destination experience? Let us know your thoughts in the CreatorPad community!

Meet Riley Wilson!

Riley is a videographer, editor, producer, and storyteller who edits for some huge names in the TikTok space. While Riley owns his own production company and edits for clients, he has recently started creating his own educational content on YouTube as well.

Riley's love for videography and storytelling led him to study videography in college, and as he progressed, he jumped into the marketing space in Atlanta before the yearning for content creation became too strong, and like so many of us, he was pulled back into the creator space.

As Riley continues with his client work, I wanted to highlight his recent efforts on creating educational content on YouTube. Producing videos covering topics such as as ways to improve production or things he wishes he knew when starting his own business, Riley wants to teach other budding creatives the ropes as he grows his brand.

I'm really looking forward to continuing to see Riley's uploads and to learning more about the ins and outs of creating content.

Keep up the awesome work, Riley! πŸ’ͺ
