Universities Across the U.S. Ban TikTok 📵

Auburn joins several other Universities in their ban of TikTok on campus wi-fi networks and University-owned devices.

Beginning with the Trump administration issuing an executive order in 2020 directing federal agencies to ban the use of TikTok on government-owned devices, this TT ban has continued to snowball, especially in recent months.

With states rolling out orders banning the platform on government networks and platforms, state universities can also fall into this category. The ban of TikTok on their wi-fi networks is due in part to similar concerns over concerns over data privacy and national security.

It's important to note that universities banning TikTok on their wi-fi networks don't necessarily prevent students from accessing the app on their personal devices. However, the ban does make it more difficult for students to use TikTok on campus and may limit their ability to engage with the platform while at school.

Overall, the decision to ban TikTok on university Wi-Fi networks is a complicated issue at the very least and raises questions about data privacy, national security, and freedom of expression.

Do you think this is a good move by the universities, or will it negatively impact creators who plan to, or are going to, these schools? And what impact will it have on the university itself? I can sense some potential downticks in applications for some universities. 👀

Should You Get Mentorship in 2023? 🤔

Mentorship can be a valuable tool for creators at any stage of their career. It can provide guidance, support, and a fresh perspective that can help creators grow and improve their work.

So, why should you seek out a mentor in 2023?

For creators, mentorship can provide valuable advice and feedback on your work, helping you to identify areas for improvement and offering suggestions for how to move forward. A mentor can also act as a sounding board, providing an outside perspective on your ideas and helping you to refine your creative process.

Additionally, a mentor can serve as a role model and provide inspiration, showing you what is possible and helping you to envision your own path to success. A mentor can also help you to develop your professional network, introducing you to other industry professionals and providing opportunities for collaboration and growth.

In short, seeking out a mentor can be an incredibly useful resource for any creator looking to grow and improve their work. Whether you are just starting out in your career or are a seasoned professional, a mentor can provide valuable support and guidance that can help you to reach your full potential as a creator.

Meet ShedBots!

As we approach the colder seasons here in the northeast, and I'm planning on moving out to Colorado for the winter, I need to get a bit more into the skiing/snowboarding spirit. And how else would I do that other than watching ShredBots?!

I've been watching ShredBots channel for literally a decade and have been getting pumped up by their insane edits every ski season. Focusing on snowboarding, ShredBots have a large team of cinematographers, riders, editors, and more to create these cinematic masterpieces.

Their most recent snowboarding movie, LOCAL DESIRE, Werni Stock and Julian Pintarelli filmed exclusively in Austria, for the entire film. This film is not only masterfully shot and beautifully edited, but the riders speak for themselves pulling out their bag of tricks in every scene.

With their beautiful cinematography, great taste in music, insanely talented riders, and unmatched editing, ShredBots continue to push the envelope in the sport of snowboarding and the art of filmmaking.

Check out their most recent film and get ready to want to hit the slopes. I know I'm ready. 😎🏂
