Stuck Between Rent and a Dream
Would you rather take the risk and fail? Or watch someone else take your shot and wonder what could’ve happened if you’d kept going?
Readers!
Happy Wednesday; I’m not sure why but it feels like it’s been a while since I’ve sent a newsletter out. Maybe its been a long week, maybe I’m a bit burnt out, or maybe it’s a little bit of both.
Let’s jump in.

Stuck Between Rent and a Dream
I was talking to a fellow founder this week, and he said something that I haven’t been able to shake.
He was telling me about an old business of his and specifically, a moment where he had to take a huge leap. Move cities. Bet big on something that wasn’t guaranteed. And he said something along the lines of:
“If I jumped and failed, it wouldn’t be the end of my life. But if I didn’t take the chance and it worked without me, I’d never be able to live with myself.”
I can’t stop thinking about that.
Because lately, I’ve been sitting in this weird middle space. CreatorPad is alive. It’s working. The people who use it love it. But getting more people to use it? That’s the hard part. We’re at this inflection point where the dream is still real, but the bank account is getting louder.
We might need side gigs again. We might need to stretch this timeline out. We might need to make changes.
And if I’m being honest, that thought is crushing. Not because I think side jobs are beneath me, or that this work is too good for compromise; but because I care so insanely much about what we’re building, and I don’t want to lose any momentum.
But that quote keeps ringing in my head.
It reframes the fear. Because failure, while scary, is survivable. What really haunts us is the not trying. The wondering. The what-if.
Whether you’re a founder, a creator, or just someone who’s sitting with a vision that hasn’t fully come to life yet, maybe this is the real question:
Would you rather take the risk and fail? Or watch someone else take your shot and wonder what could’ve happened if you’d kept going?
The answer isn’t always as simple as “keep grinding.” Sometimes we do need to take a step back, regroup, or find other ways to support ourselves.
But at the same time, I think there’s something to be said for betting on yourself a little longer. For holding the line. For seeing what happens when you stay in it.
Because failure is tough. But regret is heavier.
