The Potential of the Creator Economy (According to Meta)🧐

In a recent report commissioned by Meta, Richard Florida dives deep into the creator economy and reports on topics such as what motivates creators, how they get paid, the "creator middle class," and more.

Titled "The Rise of the Creator Economy," this report tackles some of the intrinsic details that come along with being a creator in this day in age in an attempt to "understand the scope of the creator economy [and] its broader economic impact and what’s driving individual creators."

Let's break down the juiciest takeaways below:

• The creator economy is forecasted by exploratory studies to reach more than $100B

• Up to 60 million Americans now make up the “Creative Class,” according to estimates

• Most creators are motivated by intrinsic rewards

• There is an immense opportunity to forge a “Creator Middle Class"

Personally, the idea of a "creator middle class" is extremely interesting to me. While not breaking down how we can form this new class, Meta believes that the implementation of this can "create a stronger, more sustainable creator economy to thrive in the decades to come." • Twitter Co-Founder, Jack Dorsey, addresses the recent layoff of 50% of Twitter staff, stating: "I grew the company size too quickly. I apologize for that."

• Through connections in the industry, to helping creators get paid faster, Visa launches a new program to empower creators.

Meet Tyger Teeth!

Leslie (AKA Tyger Teeth) is an artist, commentary creator, and comedian who puts out hilarious work on TikTok and YouTube and some incredible art on her Instagram.

With Leslie's commentary being at the same level as some of the biggest commentary comedians on the platform (source: trust me, I watch a lot of this content), I found Leslie's work on YouTube and was absolutely shocked that it didn't have more views. From topics ranging from covering unhinged dropshipping products to breaking down viral TikTok content, Leslie has hysterical takes on parts of the internet I didn't know existed (Peepy lives in my nightmares. Thanks, Leslie) and breaks them down into short and digestible videos. Definitely be sure to go check out Tyger Teeth's videos and drop her a sub; I can't wait to continue to see her push out some amazing content (plus, I need more commentary videos in my life)!
