Happy Wednesday creator peeps!

I’m sorry to break it to ya, but there’s no big story in this issue as I’m sick as a dawg this week and my brain feels like a bag of mashed potatoes, so please bear with me on this one!

Nothing to share on my end except that I’ll be going to Paris in a few weeks, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know what I should see and do (bonus points if it involves wine, cured meat, and cheese). Now let’s jump in!

Creator Economy News 🚨

This week in the creator world, the writers strike and why it’s important for creators, the Streamy’s winners revealed, Bobbi Althoff is set to launch a new show, Amouranth starting a beverage brand, Kai Cenat launches a movie, and more. This week in creator economy news:

• Want to know what’s going on with the writer’s strike and learn how it relates to the creator space? Check out this breakdown from Mavrck; if you’re a current full-time creator, or would like to be one in the future, please do yourself a favor and study up!

• With everyone and their grandma wanting content to be fed to them on an algorithm, Twitch is looking to roll out a discovery page of its own. Let’s hope they give some good opportunities for smaller channels just like YouTube Shorts does!

• This year’s Streamy’s have come to a close and the winners are honestly no surprise. I want to see a Streamy-Esq awards show with creators who don’t have insane amounts of cash and teams at their disposal. Something like a Sundance for creators… hmu if you want to explore something like this, I see a really cool opportunity here. 👀

• The recent viral podcaster, Bobbi Althoff, is set to launch a live show, and the reaction is… not great, to say the least. The live show is set to launch with one of her first guests, Funny Marco. Not sure who Bobbi is? Check out this short for all the details from CreatorPad!

• Looks like Kai Cenat and co are doing some damage control from the NYC riot incident by releasing a Rush Hour inspired movie on YouTube. Controversy aside, I love to see creators making content like this, I’m a firm believer in creators becoming the new Hollywood, and this is a step in the right direction!

• Who’s thirsty? Amouranth is apparently set to launch a drink brand. With other creators breaking into the food & beverage industry like Logan Paul & KSI with Prime, GamerSupps with Schlatt, Feastables with MrBeast, and beyond, it begs the question: Why are F&B brands so approachable for creators?

Meet Cody Mitchell!

Cody is a photographer & filmmaker who primarily creates mini-movies based on his travels and adventures, and he even shares tips on how to be a better photographer.

This is actually how I found Cody; While searching for a new film camera, I was lucky enough to stumble on Cody’s channel and find his goldmine of inspiring content and killer tips.

From learning what film camera is my best choice, to learning some common mistakes to avoid and even finding inspiration from his adventures, I couldn’t be happier that I found Cody’s content. It feels like it’s exactly what I need right now to kick-start my creativity.

With six years’ worth of content to watch on his channel, seeing Cody’s progression as a creator and YouTuber is insanely cool to watch. You can really see him begin to hone in on his content and editing style.

While I could go on all day about Cody’s gorgeous film photography and incredible editing, I should let you dive into his content so you can see the mastery at work yourself.
