🀫 CreatorPad Teaser, TikTok Podcasting Platform, & OnlyFans Creator Jailed

We give you a teaser of our new product, TikTok bots were found scraping data from podcast companies, Singapore sends a creator to jail, and more. This Week On CreatorPad:

Welcome to this week's issue of the CreatorPad Newsletter, where we update you on all things CreatorPad and the creator economy!

This week was a bit quiet in creator news, but that's not stopping us from sharing some of our own! In this week's newsletter, we have a light teaser of our new product (I literally can't wait to launch our new site - thus the sneak peek πŸ˜…) and, of course, the latest in creator news. Dive in below πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘‡

CreatorPad Teaser 🀫

FINALLY!

I'm finally allowed to show you guys a liiiiiiiiittle sneak peak. While I can't share our full angle and new website just yet, I'm hoping that this will give you a taste of what's coming in the near future and gets you as excited as it gets me (even though it's not even the best part, I swear). Let's dive in!

While CreatorPad's main focus still lies in creating a community of like-minded creators, we also learned that we had to narrow our offerings down. To be transparent with everyone, we cast the net a bit too wide on our initial approach, and we learned through meeting with creators that we need to hone in more to be of actual help to those in the creator space. Our number one goal here at CreatorPad is to empower creators, and as we asked around, we found that our approach wouldn't be doing that. So we did the only thing we could do. We went back to the drawing board.

Our delay in launching CreatorPad has come with so many learnings, incredible connections, and an offering that truly does help creators of all sizes. Whether a budding creator or a veteran in the space, we wanted to create something that can help everyone who is passionate about putting out content.

So if you've been here from the beginning, a huge thank you from the whole team for your continued support, and if you're new, welcome to the community for creators. We hope to launch our new offering to everyone very soon, but in the meantime, join the waitlist to get early access below!

TikTok to Launch Podcasting Platform? πŸ€”

Podcast hosting brand Audiomeans just recently announced to PodNews that there is a new bot scraping their feeds; this bot has been IP tracked back to, you guessed it, TikTok.

While there has been no public announcement of their move to podcasting, the scraping of podcast feeds to analyze content is a massive nod in the direction that TikTok is headed. We've seen it with most media platforms, so it's no shock that this is in the works.

If TikTok is able to secure its reach into the pod space, this may be a signal to other podcasters that there might be some extra monetization opportunities in the near future. If we look at the recent TikTok vs YT Shorts monetization battle, we can see that platforms like YT are not going to back down without putting up a fight (and some cold hard cash).

I know of some friends and creators who already prioritize their podcasts on TikTok, have you seen the same? And as a pod consumer, could you see yourself jumping to TikTok to consume your favorite episodes?

Creator Economy News 🚨

This week in the creator world,

  • Meta is launching Creator Week from November 1-7 in London. Only 450 creators were invited, but Meta says you can catch videos of the event on Facebook. I'm just surprised they're not making you get an Oculus and jump in the Metaverse to watch.

  • β€œIt’s not uncommon to hear about top creators making upwards of low five figures off of a single Live.” Have you tapped into the lucrative market of TT Live?

  • Visa is helping creators get paid faster. Is this the first domino in the chain of financial service companies to jump into the creator space?

Creator Spotlight πŸ”¦

Image: KaptainKristian (Twitter)

KaptainKristian is a YouTube creator and storyteller who has been putting out insanely in-depth video essays on a variety of different topics. From breaking down the intrinsic details of movies or shows to exploring musical identity and even the rhyme patterns of Dr. Seuss, KaptainKristian is a dynamic creator who isn't afraid to explore different topics.

While his uploads aren't the most frequent (especially with today's posting norms), as a viewer, you get the sense that these videos aren't something that should be rushed. When you realize the time put into these videos and the depth of research and scripting, the time in between posts is understandable in a weird way. While I'm always hungry for more content from him, I understand that the timing in between his videos is likely dedicated to formulating these incredible stories and thought pieces.

To me, KaptainKristian is yet another reminder that you don't always have to be creating and pushing out content, especially if it sacrifices your quality. KaptainKristian is truly one of my favorite storytellers on YouTube, so if you need some scripting inspiration, definitely be sure to check him out. Feel free to check out my personal favorite, Adult Swim - The History of a Television Empire.

I hope to see more in-depth videos from KaptainKristian in the near future, but as we know, great things take time. 😌
